The CBMnet Service from Plant Asset Management

The specialist maintenance consulting team within Petrofac Facilities Management – is revolutionising the delivery of condition-monitoring services to oil & gas assets in terms of cost, timing and the quality of information received directly by the asset. The service works by collecting condition data on critical plant and machinery, uploading it to the globally accessible CBMnet server which transfers it to the CBMnet operations centre. Condition-based information is then made available to the asset maintenance and operations personnel, via the CBMnet website.

CBMnet has turned the traditional business model for condition-monitoring on its head. We train the local maintenance technicians on the asset to collect the data – taking the data to the expert rather than the expert to the data – and then deliver, via the Internet, condition-based information which is used by the asset’s maintenance personnel to help manage the asset more effectively.
